Data Migration

Data migration can be a tedious process, but don’t worry, Stratly is here to get you through it! We treat your data with the utmost care so that you can rest easy

What is data migration?

Data migration is simply moving all your constituent related data from your existing systems to Stratly. Converting data from your existing platform can be complex and difficult to navigate. Our migration uses a standard process that maps your existing data to a best practice configuration within Stratly’s platform that is easily modified to fit your needs.

Can I migrate my data?

Yes! Your data can be migrated to Stratly. Your Onboarding Specialist will create a comprehensive plan for this migration and will also provide updates to track your progress.

What data gets migrated?

The following types of data are available for import into the Stratly platform:

Account data such as constituent name, codes and contact information, relationships, and attributes.

Donation data such as recurring, one-time gifts, donation amounts, dates, campaigns, funds, appeals, and payment methods.
.
Event registration data such as event registration dates and amounts.

Pledge data such as recurring, one-time gifts, installment and payment information.

Membership data such as membership level, cost, start date, and end date.

What are the technical requirements for data migration?

None. We help you identify the data migration process and guide you along the way. For further information, refer to the steps under the topic, “How does data migration work?”

How does data migration work?

There are four steps:

Mapping and Analysis
To get started, we use a recent backup of your data to create a data dictionary and analysis file. From here we apply our standard map for the Stratly platform and modify as required to match your needs. We’ll review your campaigns, attributes, phone types, constituent codes and more to transform and optimize these old codes into valuable information.

Cleaning and Duplications (Deduping)
Prior to importing your legacy data, we'll clean it, standardize the addresses, and dedupe your records (remove any duplications). This best practice approach gives you better insight into what the final result will be and provides more accurate data for your review and validation.

Initial Load and Validation
With your old data cleaned, deduped (duplicate records removed) and with a transformation plan in hand, we'll perform an initial full load into Stratly’s platform. Your team will then have a chance to review the result and experience hands-on what Stratly can do for your data.

Final Load
Now it's time to make the switch. We'll work with your team to plan and prepare, then take another final backup of your existing platform data and populate Stratly. With your data successfully migrated, it's go time!

Security, Risk and Compliance

Security influences everything we do at Stratly . Our policy is to go above and beyond to make sure your information is secure. With Stratly , you get the highest levels of security and reliability for your fundraising applications and data. We’ll keep our eyes on the software, so you can keep your eyes on your mission. This is the biggest reason why we’ve partnered with TD Bank, WePay, Bambora, and First Data to process your payments. They are industry leaders when it comes to keeping your information safe online.

If you have questions about our partners' security procedures, please check out:

Is your technology secure?

Our state-of-the-art cryptographic algorithms are used during data transmission (HTTPS with RSA 2048 bit key and SHA 256 certificate) and in our databases (AES 256 encryption with unique per-row keys). Our servers are kept in PCI and SSAE16 certified data centers with 24/7 monitoring.

Are you PCI compliant?

The PCI DSS certification process is designed to protect your sensitive data. Our processing partners are a certified Level 1 PCI Compliant Service Provider (the highest level), which requires an annual independent security audit of our processes and systems. We test our system daily (manually and automatically) to ensure security.

How are performance indicators monitored?

We will monitor performance indicators on the systems and network infrastructure to gauge the overall performance of hosting and will take reasonable steps to address systems and network infrastructure as required to maintain application performance. We will use an internal system to measure whether hosting is available, and you agree that this system will be the sole basis for resolution of any dispute that may arise between us regarding the availability.

What is the system’s availability?

We commit that the production version of the software in the hosting environment will be available at least 99.9% of the time (calculated on a monthly basis and excludes maintenance as stated above). Should you experience a disruption please notify us as soon as possible. To be eligible for a service credit, the average availability for the entire prior month must drop below 99.7% and you must notify us within 30 days of the end of that month so that we can investigate the issue. We will use our tools to measure and confirm any reported unavailability.

Upon timely notice of unavailability that qualifies for a credit, we will credit your next invoice as follows:

Monthly Uptime

<99.7% = 10% discount
<99.5% = 20% discount

Who owns my data?

You own your data, your confidential information and any artwork, logos, trade names, and trademarks that you provide to Stratly (“Your Data”). In order for Stratly to provide Solutions, you grant to Stratly and its suppliers a nonexclusive, fully paid-up license to use, reproduce, store, modify, and display your Data.
